Team Vietnam is currently in the 6th spot, following a week and a half of racing in tenth edition of well known two-year Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The squad, guided by Australian captain Wendy Tuck, is being fueled by a bountiful supply of homemade cakes thanks to their wonderful mothers.

Flo, at present, is just off the Madeira coast, and the crew is racing quite hard to hold their spot. Cetaceans have been spotted quite frequently, and the crew has made up an expression to depict the dolphins that ride the phosphorescent filled bow waves.

The squad has seen some setbacks. In the first few days, 2 spinnakers were discredited as well as a loss of communications guided to a lack of weather forecasts, but now both sails have been fixed, courtesy of an Athens Yacht Charter company.

There appears to be a whole lot of fun going on, fastening close-knit Da Nang family, but along with all the games and fun is a competitive team longing for their champagne finish. At the moment, the wind is fluffy and light, and the team are working very hard to get every inch on the opposition.

The first leg of the race took the entering teams more than five thousand nautical miles from London through Atlantic Ocean, including the intriguing Doldrums, to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. This is the very first team with Da Nang-Viet Nam sponsorship has participated in a global yacht show.
